Brief Presentation

Professional School of Agriculture “Stefan Tsanov” is an established educational center for training specialists in agricultural production, combining the best traditions of secondary vocational education, taking into account innovation in the sector and regulated system of quality of education.

The school provides training in three forms: living part-time and self. Currently, it trains 430 students aged 14 to 19 years. The school students receive quality educational and vocational training. As the first foreign language studied English and a second language – Russian.

Students are trained in the following specialties:

  • agro ecology;
  • plant protection and agro chemistry;
  • motor transport equipment;
  • mechanization of agriculture;
  • business administration;
  • rural tourism.

There are students with proven learning outcomes at school but there are also students with learning difficulties and negative attitudes. Teachers make every effort to ensure that each student has a good education and successfully completes his / her education.

Students from the town of Kneja and the surrounding settlements are trained in the school. A large number of students travel to school every day. Transportation is free for students. The transport is provided and paid by the Knezha Municipality and the school budget.

The school also hosts a large number of extracurricular activities that complement the compulsory program and enable students to develop. Students from more distant places are housed in a dormitory located in the courtyard of the school.

At the end of their studies, students receive a diploma for completed secondary education and a certificate of professional qualification. These documents allow them to start work on the subject or continue their studies at university.

The area where Knezha is located is predominantly agricultural.

There are companies that are involved in the production of cereals and their processing into groceries. The opportunities for young people to start work are related to these activities. The specialties and occupations studied at the school are tailored to these needs of the area.

Built more than 50 years training facilities thanks to the hard work of the management and team of teachers has been renovated and meets the requirements for quality education. The high school has laid out hostel accommodation for students from other places and areas and school chair.

The school has 39 qualified teachers in general education and vocational training. All are ambitious, motivated and responsible work for the prestige of the school and the preparation of future agricultural specialists. Everyone is experienced in developing and implementing projects on national and European programs. Professional School of Agriculture “Stefan Tsanov” works on many national and international projects in the field of vocational education and training. The last few years have been developed and successfully implemented at national and European programs:

  • Project “Good luck – to make school attractive to young people,” co-financed by the ESF OP “Human Resources Development”;

Our school is currently working on introducing new ICT technologies: we have purchased a software system that includes: an electronic diary, opportunities for sharing e-learning content.

We encounter difficulties in training students with poor behavior, pupils from socially disadvantaged families.
