In our school, AGIS (Academic Development Monitoring Examination) is being conducted. With this system, a total of 8 exams are being held for the 9th year students for 2 years. These test results and the data in the school lessons are analyzed to lead the student to their future studying field.

Each year, 4006 TÜBİTAK fairs are organized and approximately 25 projects are exhibited in May. Every year, visits to various universities are organized. Our school has a swimming club. We are preparing to compete with 50 athletes in this club. Again, every year we participate in high school competitions in football, basketball, table tennis, volleyball.

Our school is in the Rize / Çayeli in the Black Sea region. Thus, it is mostly rainy all through the year. In this region, kiwi fruit and tea is an intensive agriculture field which supplies the region in financially. Therefore, the students are usually reluctant to study and continue their education and they think they can make money on farming. Moreover, the parents are generally wealthy because of agriculture. Because our region does not have migration from outside, our student profile is made up of young people of this region. The vast majority of our students choose verbal study fields. We have not had any international project experience so far, that’s why we are so willing to participate in a god project.

We try to teach and train our students to be self-confident, intellectual, respectful to their cultural and historical heritage, integrated with the universal and local values. Since the location of our school and the town isn’t a touristic place, the students are not able to practice any foreign language. Therefore, they do not know the importance of the target language they learn. The language and culture is a strong link between their people and the generation of generations of analytics, attitudes, traditions and history.

The culture is an important contribution to the students. Consequently, although our teachers usually try to teach our students to be respectful to the other cultures and other people around the world, our students don’t usually meet other cultures and foreign people. Thus, transnational projects are going to be big opportunities for both our teachers and students. Furthermore, our students will have a chance to practice in a foreign language and a chance to see how important to speak a foreign language and to know about the different cultures.
